I BIMESTRE: VERB TO BE

LET'S PRACTICE

Exercise 1: Complete the sentences with the correct verb to be. Write you answer in red.

·         She is in the cinema with her friends.

·         Are you happy today?
·         I´m not (not) in the restaurant.

·          Is he at home?
·         It is a nice cat.

·         We aren´t (not) in the park near to my house.

Exercise 2: Rewrite the sentences from positive form to interrogative form. Write you answer in red.
Example: Jim and I are classmates (Positive)
               Are Jim and I classmates? (Interrogative)

·                    Jose is very tired.
Ø  Is Jose very tired?

·                     She is 12 years old.
Ø  Is she 12 years old?

·                     You are from Peru.
Ø  Are you from Peru?

·                     They are in the garage.
Ø  Are they in the garage?

·                    It’s very cold today.
Ø  Is it very cold today?

Exercise 3: Rewrite the sentences from positive form to negative form. Write you answer in red.
·                    The weather is nice today.
Ø  The weather is not nice today.

·                    Carla is thirty, she is in the kitchen.
Ø  Carla isn´t thirty, she isn´t in the kitchen.

·                     My parents are in my house.
Ø  My parents are not in my house.

·                      John and Mary are best friends.
Ø  John and Mary aren´t best friends.

·                     I am from Brazil. I am Brazilian
Ø  I´m not from Brazil. I´m not Brazilian.
